Formed in 1985, Permissions & Rights Ltd. is a prominent company located in Limassol, Cyprus. Today, it is one of the world’s leading and most diversified agencies, specialized in copyright protection and investments in countries of Central and Eastern Europe, on behalf of a wide range of proprietors.

Founded by Jovan Milenkovic, who has developed longstanding, personal relationships with owners and executives at publishing firms, the company's mission has always been securing legitimate deals for proprietors, with the focus on delivering timely payments.

The company is dedicated to the long-term success of its proprietors, negotiating the best terms for every contract, and being an active partner in the publishing process, and development of local television stations. The scope of services available is wide, supporting activities of various divisions within the group.

Literary agency

For over 30 years we have been representing clients from all segments of the publishing industry: leading publishers, literary agencies and literary estates based in the UK, the USA, Latin America and Europe.

Our list is vast, yet selective, and includes everything from commercial and literary fiction to cutting-edge nonfiction. We currently represent over 200,000 bestselling and emerging authors, with the emphasis on commercial names.

During the communist period in Eastern and Central Europe, Permissions & Rights Ltd. operated through a network of affiliate offices, whereas today we use exclusive services of Prava i prevodi Agency, and its dedicated Foreign Rights department.

Television

The scope of activity in television business is limited to the countries of former Yugoslavia.

Permissions & Rights Ltd. is the co-owner of MAG Network, the group of local, non-commercial television stations, financed either by local councils, or private companies.

It is also managing complete television programmes aired on two leading children's cable channels: TV Ultra and TV Mini Ultra.

In co-operation with RTV Pink, Permissions & Rights Ltd. has created five cable channels, and is responsible for their editorial content, financial obligations and broadcast.

We own one of the best-equipped studios, specialized in the subtitling and translation of television programs, used by the majority of local television stations.

Permissions & Rights Ltd. is also a major distributor of foreign television titles to television stations in Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Montenegro and Macedonia, including programmes from the BBC, ITV, France Television Distribution, All3media, DreamWorks, Lagardere, Newen, DCD Rights, DRG, Trust Nordisk, ZDF, ORF, DR, AB Svensk Filmindustri, to mention a few only.

Digital media and publishing

This new department, in co-operation with the leading local distributor GDT from Belgrade, is involved in the production of children's DVD editions, based on the most popular cartoon characters and series, broadcast on local television stations.

The department is now open to all publishing activities of children's books, including story-books, activity books, magazines, and hard-cover editions, based on television characters and series broadcast on TV Ultra, TV Mini Ultra and other local TV stations.

Our services also include formatting for uploading, copyediting, cover design, and marketing.

GDT distribution have exclusive access and sale points in major local supermarket chains, taking advantage of the latest marketing techniques that may be suited to a particular DVD and book.

During the first two years, Permissions & Rights Ltd. put into publication over two hundred DVD and book titles.
